    Tekfen Construction to build 230 km pipeline for Morocco's OCP

    On January 20th, Tekfen Construction and OCP (Office Chérifien des Phosphates) top executives met to sign a contract following Tekfen's successful tender bid for OCP's new Phosphate Slurry Pipeline worth USD 450 mio. The project will be implemented within the scope of OCP's USD 5 billion investment wave aiming to increase the mining and export capacity of the country's most abundant natural resource and the largest export good: phosphate.

    Among the parties present at the signing ceremony in OCP headquarters were Erhan Öner, Tekfen Holding CEO, Osman Birgili, Tekfen Construction Senior Vice President as well as Mostafa Terrab, OCP CEO, Mohamed Benabdeljalil OCP Executive Vice President and both companies large group of executives.

    The 230 km pipeline will carry phosphate in the form of slurry from the mining area of Khourighba to Jorf Lasfar Terminal on the Atlantic Coast. The project, which consists of a segment of 187 km of 36" pipeline, the largest diameter to be ever built for slurry, and a segment of 39 km of 12"-20" pipeline, together with pump stations and storage facilities, is scheduled for completion in 28 months.
